WORKSHOP FOR IMMIGRANT PARENTS

Attorney Acosta has been invited to present at many events and educational programs in the community.  With her knowledge of the law and her desire to help the community, she always makes time to help more people know their legal rights. This past November 14, Mundo Legal participated in collaboration with OCHOA'S CONSULTING LLC in the workshop for immigrant parents where topics of importance for those undocumented parents who wish to obtain permanent residence through the support of their children. 


In this workshop, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the possibilities of action and have clearer ideas about the support programs that exist at their disposal such as VAWA, the U Visa, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), humanitarian parole, asylum, among others.


Thanks to this space, Attorney Acosta was able to clarify a variety of doubts regarding how to take the first step and encourage people to take the reins of their future, which, although despite feeling fear, should not be a limitation to pursuing legal options.


There are various possibilities in which citizen members of a family can be of support in the residency process for their direct relatives such as parents, children, siblings, or indirect relatives such as spouses or fiancés. Depending on the immigration situation or the factors of the case already open to the residency application, the movement will be designated to work together with your lawyer to achieve the desired objective.
